This is a birthday cake for my brother. He loves white chocolate, strawberries and marzipan. Anyway, I made the corpus from dark chocolate, but he did not mind.
Cake corpus:
250 g of butter
200 g of dark chocolate
500 g of fine flour
spoon of baking powder
150 g of sugar
3 eggs
tablespoons of cocoa
pinch of salt
pinch of baking soda
200 g of plain yogurt (try Greek)
150 ml of boiling water
Filling:
500 g of 33% cream
bar of white chocolate
Decor:
about 500 g strawberries and marzipan (I was lazy and used store-bought)
Preparation:
Dough - in a saucepan, melt the butter with the chocolate and add 150 ml of boiling water.
In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, sugar and cocoa.
In another bowl, blend eggs and add the yogurt.
Put ingredients together and bake for about 60 minutes at 160 degrees.
Filling - in the meantime, prepare the cream. Put it in a saucepan whipping cream and white chocolate. Stir until the chocolate is melted, then let it cool down. Feel free to put in the fridge when the cream is cold. After that, whip it until the cream is smooth. You can also add extra grated white chocolate, for crispy taste.
Decor - cut the cake corpus in 3 parts. Fill it with the cream, also on the top and on sides. Finally, decorate the top with strawberries. Roll marzipan into a thin and narrow slice and stick it on the side of cake. Done :)
