Christ the Redeemer is a must-visit in Rio. And visiting Rio de Janeiro is a must as well. Without visiting Rio, it is like you have never been in Brazil. Brazilians love queue so it is a half-day trip. But it is totally worth it.
How to get there
One of the ways is to take a subway to Largo do Machado station, buy a ticket for 20 USD (up to 30 USD, depending on the season) and then take a mini van. Another option is to take a train. This is beautiful especially because there is Tijuca national park around the Christ and you can see the forest. Third option is to climb. However, it might be kind of exhausting since the weather is really hot.
Spectacular view
Almost everyone needed to take a selfie with the Christ. And the view is totally amazing. You can see Sugar Loaf, Flamengo, lake, Botafogo, Copacabana, Ipanema and many other places. I love the combination of hills and sea in Rio. This is what makes the city really exceptional. And the Christ is quite huge!
The last for the best
Rio de Janeiro was the last stop in Brazil. It definitelly exceeded my expectations. I stayed in a hostel El Misti Copacabana and met so many great people from all around the world. Even though Brazil is not the safest country, I will come back some day. I still want to visit at least Salvador, Sao Paulo and Iguazu Falls.
