A few days ago I had a chance to attend an event for a new book coming up Kdyz vari muzy (When muses cook). Today I want to share with you a recipe from Marie Fajtova - classic potatoe pancakes. The only thing that makes them different are plums.
This cookbook is filled with all sorts of recipes from Czech the artists. There is our famous opera singer Dagmar Peckova and their family recipes also shared Libor Pesek or Stefan Margita. Now, let's make those potato pancakes.
Ingredients:
potatoes, marjoram, garlic, salt, pepper, flour, milk, eggs, onion finely chopped, dried plums
Certainly every family has their own tested recipe for these pancakes.
Preparation:
Mix peeled and finely diced potatoes with other ingredients. Put the dough in a cake tin and then add plums, nicely in rows about an inch apart. Bake for about 30 minutes in a hot oven at 220 ° C.
Potato pancakes are easy to prepare. Plums are certainly interesting but I missed the old and good pancake. A little bit of oil makes a big difference and potato pancakes are then beautifully crispy and so yummy.
