Plachuta is Vienna was recommended to me because of their schnitzel and potatoe salad without a mayonnaise. How was my experience?
An excellent traditional Austrian food with a minimum of touristic atmosphere. Plachuta is located almost in the center of Vienna. The space is enormous. The staff is welcomes you at the door and immediately settles you at the table. You can see photos of celebrities who have visited the restaurant. Just a few of them: Woody Allen, Tom Jones and more. The menu is just right. Prices are higher, I paid for schnitzel with salad 18 Euro. But it was fabulous! You get two really huge schnitzels. They charge a couvert to each person sitting at the table automatically - it is 2.80 Euro and includes service desk and bread with butter. Bread is obviously homemade and absolutely delicious. Butter is served on ice, which I appreciate as a piece of originality. Since the season of pumpkins is here, I could not miss the soup. It was good, but honestly, I had already better one. The flavor could be richer. A friend ordered fried chicken served in a basket with the same potato salad. It also worth trying it. Service is really professional and friendly. A lot of people ordered an icecream sundae, but I finally resisted.

When you visit Vienna, it would be a sin not to try a schnitzel. And Plachuta will deliver what you want.
